High School Programs

Get a headstart on your career today!

If you are in year 10, 11 or 12 you may be eligible for funding

Our High School Programs at Gold Coast Trades College are exceptional. They offer a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience in “real-world” set-up workshops.

These high school programs allow students in years 10, 11, 12 and senior high school to prepare for and start working towards apprenticeships while still in school or after year 12 graduation, giving them the advantage of gaining practical skills and industry exposure.

With short courses across various trade umbrellas, our Construction, Plumbing, Electrotechnology, and Automotive High School Programs encourage students to find their passion early on, integrate a sense of self-understanding, acquire employability skills, and understand the potential career path they may like to pursue. These programs also allow students to collect points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE).

The flexibility of our high school programs ensures that students can effectively manage their Senior Schooling commitments and vocational training. This particular structure not only helps students transition smoothly into work or further study routines but also equips them with a nationally recognised qualification that boosts their employability.

Moreover, our strong emphasis on practical skills training is essential for students to feel confident in applying the trade in a real-world career; it’s not a “sit in the classroom and hope for the best” type scenario here at Gold Coast Trades College. We are here to support our students thriving in the trades industry; allow your students to be a part of that!

Our high school programs are supported by state government funding, making these opportunities accessible to a wider range of students without financial burdens.

Although not necessary, we encourage parents and carers to visit the campus before signing up their child so they can see how fantastic our College is, meet the staff and trainers, and get a good overview of why our High School Programs are the best choice.
