Get fit for an Apprenticeship or other employment opportunities by undertaking a Pre-Apprenticeship Bootcamp or Extended course. Our pre-apprenticeship programs are designed to give you the right level of skills and knowledge to impress an employer and hit the ground running in an entry-level position.
In addition to learning practical skills and gaining an understanding of the specific units of competency that make up the qualification, you will also receive training and guidance on how to apply for jobs, what employers are looking for, and general employability skills.
You will receive a customised resume, job hunting advice, and introductions to the industry and providing you are committed and keen, we will help you find work experience and if possible, permanent employment.

Theory training is delivered face-to-face in conjunction with our online learning platform, College Cloud, in a classroom setting and will involve presentations, classroom discussions, breakout activities and role-plays. GCTC campus has fully equipped workshop spaces designed to simulate real-life work sites.
Practical training and assessment activities are conducted in the workshops and in the large campus courtyard.
The course is delivered face to face combining the classroom delivery and simulated work environments. Learners are required to engage in self-paced study conducted outside of schedule training days to enable learners to deepen their understanding of the content and to prepare for training the following week.
The following entry requirements apply to ensure applicants are able to fully engage in the course and have the required learning capacity to meeting the course requirements.

You may be eligible to receive the Queensland Government Certificate 3 Guarantee funding for this course.
The Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidises course fees for Queenslanders to help them access training and complete their first post-school certificate III qualification and increase their skills to move into employment, re-entre the workforce or advance their career.
It also supports school student to access training and Queensland’s Year 12 graduates to transition to employment by providing fee-free training in high priority qualifications.
The Certificate 3 Guarantee is targeted at Certificate III qualification because they are considered the entry-level qualification most often needed to gain employment in many industry sectors.
Foundation skills and lower-level vocational qualifications may also be delivered in certain circumstances.
The Certificate 3 Guarantee subsidises your vocational education and training course fees.
This means that instead of paying the full costs of a training course, you will pay a reduced amount, making training more affordable and accessible.

For those not eligible for the Certificate 3 Guarantee funding you can still undertake the course by paying the full fee:

Gold Coast Trades College will provide a free Hi Vis Shirt to each student.
This qualification provides a pathway into a wide range of electrotechnology pathways at a Certificate III level including Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Linesman and Solar Installer. The ideal pathway for our target learner is to gain a trade apprenticeship in the electrotechnology industry.
This qualification introduces the electrotechnology industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations to the student. The units of competency cover work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, work planning, single path circuits, and basic use of tools and materials. In addition to the ideal outcome of an apprenticeship in the electrotechnology industry, this program can assist graduates in gaining a wide range of entry level jobs in the electrotechnology industries.
