Whether you’re still in high school or in the workforce, Gold Coast Trades College is flexible and will work with you, your employer and school to create a training program that suits your busy schedule.

Our school-based apprenticeship program allows you to jump start your Painting and Decorating career, earn money and complete Year 12 all at once.

This qualification will provide you with skills and knowledge in a range of Painting and Decorating competencies that will be customised to meet your training needs.

  • erect and maintain trestle and plank systems
  • erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding
  • remove and replace door and window components

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for experienced workers to gain a formal Certificate III in Painting and Decorating qualification.

Career Outcomes

Graduates will be trade qualified in Painting & Decorating and can progress onto Certificate IV qualifications such as Building and Construction, Project Management or Small Business Management.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Participants do however need intermediate language, literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
