Whether you’re still in high school or in the workforce, Gold Coast Trades College is flexible and will work with you, your employer and school to create a training program that suits your busy schedule.

Our school-based apprenticeship program allows you to jump start your waterproofing career, earn money and complete Year 12 all at once.

This qualification will provide you with skills and knowledge in a range of Waterproofing competencies that will be customised to meet your training needs.

Subjects in this qualification include:

  • WHS requirements, policies and procedures
  • plan and organise work
  • use of painting and decorating tools, equipment and materials
  • read and interpret plans
  • work effectively with others
  • conduct workplace communication
  • use of waterproofing tools and materials
  • prepare for construction waterproofing process
  • prepare surfaces for waterproofing application
  • apply waterproofing process to below ground level wet areas
  • apply waterproofing process to internal wet areas
  • apply waterproofing process to external wet areas
  • apply waterproofing remedial processes

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for experienced workers to gain a formal Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing qualification

Career Outcomes
Graduates will be trade qualified in Waterproofing and can progress onto Certificate IV qualifications such as Building and Construction, Project Management or Small Business Management.

Total number of units = 19

14 core units

5 elective units.

A maximum of two of the five required elective units may be substituted by selecting relevant units of competency from any Certificate III or IV construction qualification or qualification in another endorsed Training Package.

Some units in this qualification may have prerequisite requirements, which must be met when packaging the qualification. Users are referred to the list of CPC08 units with prerequisite unit requirements available in this Training Package for this purpose.
