Course Overview

The CPC30620 Certificate III in Painting and Decorating provides the skills to prepare, paint, and finish a wide variety of surfaces. Apprentices learn how to apply coatings, decorative finishes, and maintain surfaces for both new builds and renovations.

Key skills include:

  • Preparing and restoring surfaces
  • Applying paints, stains, and protective coatings
  • Using spray guns and specialised tools
  • Creating decorative finishes (e.g. faux finishes, wallpapering)
  • Working to safety and environmental standards

Duration: 3–4 years as an apprenticeship

Entry Requirements: Must be employed as a painting and decorating apprentice with a signed training contract
